Grand Forks, ND – North Dakota will experience a mix of chilly temperatures, partly cloudy skies, and a slight chance of snow heading into the weekend. While today remains cold with morning clouds clearing, temperatures are expected to warm by Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, a fast-moving upper wave could bring a 20% chance of light snow to northwest Minnesota and the northern Red River Valley late Friday night into early Saturday. Otherwise, conditions will be partly cloudy with winds ranging from 10 to 25 mph throughout the weekend.
A sharp temperature gradient will develop over the region, with the coldest conditions near Lake of the Woods and the warmest in southeastern North Dakota. Highs will range from the mid-20s to upper 30s today, warming to the 40s and even 60s by Sunday in some areas.
Residents should prepare for fluctuating temperatures and possible light snow early Saturday. Warmer air will follow, making for a milder end to the weekend.
