Grand Forks, ND – Extreme cold is gripping Minnesota and North Dakota Thursday morning, with wind chills as low as 40°F below zero expected through 10 AM CST.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Forks, a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for cities including Fargo, Grand Forks, Bemidji, and Thief River Falls. Exposure to these temperatures can cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes.
Residents should dress in layers, cover exposed skin, and limit outdoor activity. Those traveling should have an emergency kit in their vehicles. While conditions will slightly improve after 10 AM, cold temperatures will persist.
