Duluth, MN – A clipper system will bring light snow showers across northern Minnesota tonight before tapering off. However, the reprieve will be short-lived.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Duluth, a second round of snow arrives Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night. Lake effect snow showers are expected to linger across northwest Wisconsin into Wednesday. Temperatures will remain frigid, with highs between 18°F and 29°F Tuesday and dipping to lows of 4°F to 17°F.
The strongest system of the week is forecast to hit Thursday, bringing widespread snowfall across the region. Accumulations of 12 to 24 inches are possible as the storm moves through, accompanied by low temperatures between -6°F and 9°F.
Residents are advised to prepare for hazardous road conditions and limited visibility during peak snowfall. Travel delays are likely, especially during evening commutes on Tuesday and Thursday.
