Minneapolis, MN – Light snow is expected to return to Minnesota Thursday morning, potentially impacting travel north and west of St. Cloud. Areas most likely to see snow accumulation of one inch or more include St. Cloud and Duluth, while Minneapolis is forecasted to receive less than half an inch.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the snowfall is expected to begin late Thursday morning and continue into early Friday. Roadways such as I-94 and Highway 10 could experience slick conditions. Drivers should reduce speeds and allow extra travel time.

For Thursday, Minneapolis will see cloudy skies and a high near 27°F, with snow developing in the afternoon. Winds from the west will shift northwest at 5 to 10 mph by evening. Temperatures will drop to 12°F Thursday night, with snowfall tapering off before midnight.

The extended forecast suggests Friday will be sunny and dry, with a high of 25°F. Partly sunny skies and highs in the low 20s are expected for the weekend, though there is a slight chance of snow Saturday night into Sunday.

Residents in affected areas should monitor local forecasts and prepare for potentially slippery conditions. Visit weather.gov for live updates.
