Milwaukee, WI – Snow showers are expected to impact southern Wisconsin today, creating slippery conditions and challenging travel across the region.

The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that brief but moderate snow showers will continue overnight and into Sunday, with the heaviest snow falling near Milwaukee and Janesville. Accumulations of up to one inch are possible by Sunday morning, with additional snow expected throughout the day. Drivers are advised to exercise caution, particularly on I-39/90, where reduced visibility and icy patches have already been reported.

According to the NWS, Sunday will see a high near 34°F, with snow showers tapering off in the afternoon. Winds will increase from the south at 10 to 15 mph, making travel potentially more hazardous due to drifting snow. Evening temperatures are expected to drop to around 10°F as conditions begin to clear, leaving icy surfaces behind.

Looking ahead, Monday will bring mostly sunny skies but bitterly cold temperatures, with a high near 16°F. Overnight lows will plunge to 2°F, marking the start of a frigid stretch for the region. By Tuesday, sunny conditions will continue, but the high will remain a brisk 14°F.

The NWS advises residents to monitor weather updates and prepare for delays, especially during Sunday’s snow showers. Those traveling should ensure their vehicles are equipped for winter conditions and allow extra time for safe travel.
