Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Southern Wisconsin residents should brace for wet and potentially stormy weather through Friday, with showers and thunderstorms popping up across the region beginning Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, scattered storms are expected throughout the day Wednesday, with chances of rain climbing to 80% by Thursday. A few strong storms may develop, bringing localized downpours and gusty winds. Widespread rainfall and embedded thunderstorms are forecast Thursday night into Friday, especially across southern counties.

Cities including Madison, Janesville, and Kenosha may see multiple rounds of rainfall. Drivers on I-94 and I-43 should remain alert for reduced visibility and slick roads. The unsettled pattern could also affect school pickups and commutes, particularly during Thursday evening’s peak rain window.

Residents are urged to keep umbrellas and rain gear handy, avoid flooded roadways, and check weather apps for real-time updates. If thunder roars, head indoors — lightning remains a risk through the period.

More showers and possible storms are expected to linger through Friday morning before tapering off. Additional updates may follow as storm chances evolve.
