Milwaukee, WI — Pea-sized hail fell across eastern Jefferson County, Wisconsin, as storms intensified early this afternoon. Residents reported large raindrops accompanying the hail, while the storm’s main threats included small hail and lightning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Milwaukee/Sullivan, these storm cells are advancing eastward into Dane County and will reach the Milwaukee area in the coming hours. Lightning and localized hail remain the primary hazards, especially in areas just east of Jefferson County.

Weather authorities are urging residents to stay indoors and be cautious as the storm approaches. Small hail, while not dangerous to most structures, can cause minor damage to crops and vehicles. Flash flooding is not expected, but motorists should avoid travel during lightning storms for safety reasons.

With the storm continuing to move east, forecasters are closely monitoring conditions. The National Weather Service will provide updates if the storm intensifies or changes course.
