Chicago, IL – Thunderstorms are expected to develop across the Midwest this afternoon and evening, with a small chance of hail. Cities like Chicago, Milwaukee, Rockford, Kansas City, and Des Moines may see brief periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms, but no severe weather is anticipated.

A weak surface low will move across the region, triggering some elevated thunderstorm activity. While most of the storms will remain mild, small hail could develop in some areas as the low-level jet strengthens through the afternoon. Areas from St. Louis to Rockford and Milwaukee may experience these brief thunderstorms, but the overall threat remains low.

Expect any hail that develops to be minor and unlikely to cause disruption. While residents should be prepared for occasional rainfall and thunderstorms, the weather is expected to remain manageable with little impact on daily activities.
