Columbus, Ohio – After a stretch of seasonably cool days, Ohio is expected to warm up next week, with drier conditions spreading across much of the state starting Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, temperatures between June 2 and June 6 are likely to trend above average across Ohio, especially in central and northern counties. At the same time, precipitation chances are expected to drop below normal in eastern parts of the state, signaling a shift toward summer-like conditions.

Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus could all see daytime highs climbing back into the mid-80s, while drier air may help ease flood concerns in low-lying areas. The Ohio Department of Transportation urges drivers to remain cautious during the warm-up, especially in urban zones where pavement can quickly heat and deteriorate.

Residents across northeast Ohio, including Cleveland and Youngstown, may notice reduced rainfall, which could impact gardening and lawn care. Those with outdoor plans or events next week can expect more favorable weather, though the NWS recommends staying hydrated and limiting strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours.

This warming trend marks a significant shift from the cool end of May, and additional heat advisories could be issued if temperatures climb further.
