Nashville, TN – Residents across Middle Tennessee are bracing for a significant drop in temperatures as a cold front moves in this week. Forecasters predict freezing lows and a chance of light snow flurries, especially along the Plateau, through early Thursday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, temperatures today will hover between 33 and 39 degrees, dropping into the teens overnight. On Wednesday, the area could see highs near 52 degrees, but with a 20-30% chance of light rain turning into snow showers overnight as temperatures plummet into the low 20s. No significant snow accumulation is expected.
Drivers along major routes like Interstate 40 should use caution, as reduced visibility and slick roads could pose hazards. Gusty winds up to 25 mph will make conditions feel even colder. Thursday will see clear skies with highs near 41 degrees but lows dipping to a bone-chilling 18 degrees by night.
Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday promise slightly milder conditions with sunny skies and highs reaching the mid-40s. However, rain will return late Sunday, with a 70% chance of showers into Monday. Temperatures will remain in the low 50s through early next week.
Residents are encouraged to dress warmly, limit outdoor activities, and take precautions against frostbite or hypothermia. Keep pets indoors and check on elderly neighbors who may need assistance.
