Nashville, Tennessee – Mother’s Day weekend in Tennessee will bring generally quiet weather, with cooler-than-usual temperatures and only brief rain chances. According to the National Weather Service, Saturday may see a few light showers near the Alabama border, but much of the state will stay dry.

Sunday will offer a few scattered light showers throughout the area, but nothing too heavy and no thunderstorms. The weekend will remain calm, so it’s a good time to enjoy the day with family and loved ones—just make sure to bring an umbrella in case you catch a sprinkle.

Looking ahead, conditions will turn wetter for Monday and Tuesday as showers spread across Middle Tennessee. Rain chances are expected to be higher, especially by Tuesday, with totals possibly reaching up to 60%.

After the rainy spell, however, the temperatures will climb. The National Weather Service indicates that next week will see a significant warming trend, with some areas possibly reaching 90°F as early as late Thursday. Be prepared for a shift from the cooler conditions of the weekend to the start of early summer heat.
