Nashville, TN – The remnants of Hurricane Helene have brought substantial rainfall to Middle Tennessee over the last four days. Nashville recorded 5.05 inches, while Clarksville and Crossville saw 3.98 and 3.85 inches, respectively.
According to the National Weather Service, this rainfall totals 100% or more of the region’s average September precipitation. Clarksville and Nashville saw 115% and 133% of their usual monthly rainfall, while Crossville reached 93%. Knoxville and Blountville experienced the highest percentages, reaching 142% and 207%, respectively.
The rain began Wednesday and persisted until Saturday. While widespread flooding hasn’t been reported yet, residents should stay alert for rising river levels. Forecasters predict the region may see additional rainfall this week, though likely less intense than the recent storm.
These weather conditions, linked to Hurricane Helene’s remnants, are a reminder for Tennessee residents to monitor weather alerts and prepare for potential floods. Keep an eye on local forecasts and follow safety guidelines for hazardous conditions.
