Philadelphia, PA – Weekend plans across the Mid-Atlantic could be disrupted as isolated thunderstorms threaten parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware through Sunday evening, bringing damaging wind gusts and localized flash flooding.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, the region remains under a Marginal Risk for severe weather on both Saturday and Sunday. Afternoon and evening storms could become strong to severe, with gusts topping 50 mph and brief but intense downpours that may overwhelm storm drains and low-lying areas.
Communities at risk include Philadelphia, Wilmington, Trenton, Camden, Allentown, and Atlantic City. The Delmarva Peninsula and southern New Jersey are also in the storm zone, where wind-driven rain could lead to tree damage or temporary power outages. Drivers should avoid flooded roads and secure outdoor items that could become projectiles in strong winds.
The greatest storm activity is expected from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Residents should have multiple ways to receive alerts and limit non-essential travel during active storms.
Additional updates and advisories may be issued as conditions evolve through Sunday night.
