Baltimore, Maryland – Summer warmth blankets the Mid-Atlantic today as Baltimore climbs to 91°F and much of the region hovers in the mid to upper 80s.
According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, Tuesday brings dry skies with widespread high temperatures between 84°F and 88°F across northern Virginia, Washington D.C., and central Maryland. Areas in the western highlands like Oakland will stay cooler, with highs in the mid-70s due to higher elevation.
Cities such as Leesburg, La Plata, and Fredericksburg are forecast to reach 87°F, while Staunton tops out near 88°F. This warming trend increases UV exposure, and officials recommend limiting outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, wearing sunscreen, and staying hydrated. Urban centers including Washington D.C. may feel warmer due to retained heat from pavement and buildings.
This is the warmest stretch since late May and signals an early push into typical June heat. For those in higher terrain or shaded valleys, temperatures will be more manageable through the evening.
Warm, dry conditions are expected to continue into midweek with no major rain chances until the weekend.
