Gaylord, MI – Snow is expected to blanket portions of Eastern Upper and Northern Lower Michigan on Tuesday, creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Gaylord, snowfall accumulations are estimated between 3 and 6 inches in areas including Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, and Mackinac counties. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Drivers should anticipate slippery roads, especially during the evening commute.

Winds gusting up to 30 mph will cause blowing and drifting snow in parts of Northern Lower Michigan, including Leelanau, Otsego, and Charlevoix counties. These areas may see 2 to 4 inches of snow, with the advisory ending at 5 p.m.

Motorists are urged to reduce speeds and exercise caution while traveling, as visibility may be reduced. Residents should allow extra time for travel and prepare for winter weather conditions.
