Marquette, Michigan – Showers and isolated thunderstorms could slow traffic across western and central Upper Michigan Tuesday as a humid air mass lingers over the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, scattered showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms are possible late Tuesday morning through the early evening. While severe weather is not expected, visibility could drop quickly during heavier showers. Motorists using U.S. Highway 41 and M-28 should watch for wet pavement and patchy fog near Marquette and Ishpeming between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Though Tuesday’s storm chances are low—just 20% after noon—clouds will keep temperatures near a humid 66°F [Tuesday], with winds out of the southwest at 5–10 mph. A brief lull comes Wednesday, which is expected to be mostly sunny with highs near 70°F, before another round of showers enters Thursday night into Friday.
