Gaylord, Michigan – A brisk north wind will usher in a cooler evening for northern Michigan, with clear skies and frost risk overnight away from the lakes. Tonight’s low could dip to 31°F inland, while lakeshore temperatures stay slightly milder, hovering around 36°F.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s highs will range between 56°F and 72°F, with breezy conditions. The dry air mass building over the region means a drop in temperatures tonight, especially in areas far from the lakes, where frost could form. This cold snap should clear out by Sunday, as conditions trend warmer, with highs reaching 66°F to 76°F across much of the state.

On Sunday, expect abundant sunshine and more moderate temperatures, particularly along the lakes, where highs may only reach 53°F to 63°F. Monday sees a further warming trend, with highs ranging from 72°F to 87°F, before a return of rain chances on Tuesday.

Residents should prepare for frost tonight in outlying areas, and stay informed about the upcoming rain that will likely affect the region from Tuesday through Friday next week.
