Detroit, MI – A cold front moving through Southeast Michigan today is bringing wind chills in the teens and a few lake effect snow showers or flurries this evening. Residents should prepare for a cloudy day with temperatures ranging from 34°F to 41°F.

According to the National Weather Service, the region will remain caught between a low-pressure system to the northeast and high-pressure systems to the southwest. This will allow cold northwest winds and moisture from the Great Lakes to produce a few snow showers in the evening hours, particularly for areas near the lakeshore.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, rain is expected to mix with snow overnight, with precipitation likely to increase by Wednesday night. The forecast calls for rain and snow to continue through Thursday, with higher precipitation amounts expected south of M-59. By Friday, the region should experience drier conditions, marking the start of a weekend warm-up.

Residents are urged to stay informed of changing conditions, especially if traveling during the wet weather mid-week.
