DETROIT, Michigan – The skyline sits under clear skies early Tuesday, but a subtle change is already taking shape across southeast Michigan. The air feels still and slightly damp — the calm before a few wet, breezy days that will sweep through midweek before Halloween brings back sunshine and crisp, fall air.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, Tuesday will stay quiet and bright with highs near 57°F and light east winds. Clouds increase Wednesday as a new system approaches from the Midwest, pushing scattered showers into the region by late afternoon or evening. Winds pick up from the northeast, gusting near 20 mph, and skies will turn gray and unsettled by nightfall.

Thursday looks to be the wettest day of the week, with periods of steady rain likely through the day. A few heavier pockets could develop along I-94 and I-75 during the morning commute, making for slower travel. Temperatures hold in the low 50s before dipping to near 40°F by late Thursday night as drier air moves in.

By Friday, the reward arrives — sunshine, lighter winds, and perfect trick-or-treat conditions. Afternoon highs reach the mid-50s, and evening temperatures fall through the 40s, ideal for costumes and outdoor events.

The weekend brings partly sunny skies and highs near 51°F Saturday, then cooler air and another chance for showers by Sunday night. Models hint at a sharper chill next week — an early sign that November may start on the colder side.
