DETROIT — Southeast Michigan residents can expect a calm, dry Saturday, with temperatures reaching a seasonal high of around 55 degrees. However, changes are on the horizon, with rain likely beginning Sunday night and impacting Monday morning traffic.

The National Weather Service in Detroit-Pontiac forecasts dry conditions for most of the weekend, but Sunday night’s weather pattern is set to bring rain into the area. Daytime temperatures on Sunday will stay cool, peaking around 59 degrees, but gusty winds could pick up as the night progresses, increasing the chance of rain after sunset.

Commuters are advised to plan for a potentially wet and slippery Monday morning, with rain expected to persist through the early hours. Monday’s high is expected to reach an unseasonably warm 71 degrees, bringing humidity and gusty winds up to 20 mph.

As the week progresses, Tuesday and Wednesday will maintain the warm trend with highs near 74 degrees on Tuesday. However, showers will likely persist, especially in the afternoon, and may continue overnight into early Wednesday. Southbound I-75 and other major routes could experience delays as rain increases.

Looking ahead, the weather is expected to clear up by midweek, with partly sunny skies returning on Wednesday and highs around 64 degrees. Temperatures will cool slightly toward Thursday, reaching the mid-60s but with minimal rain chances, allowing for a few days of sunshine.

Drivers are encouraged to remain cautious during the rain, especially during morning and evening commutes early in the week. For the latest updates, monitor local weather alerts and adjust travel plans as needed.
