Grand Rapids, MI – Snow showers taper off Wednesday morning, but another round of wintry weather may cause slick roads this weekend. Drivers should remain cautious as freezing rain and snow are expected to return Thursday night into Friday, impacting travel conditions north of M-46.
According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring gradually clearing skies with highs reaching 33°F. Winds from the northwest at 10 to 13 mph may create blowing snow in some areas. Thursday is expected to be sunny with a high of 41°F, providing a temporary break from winter weather.
However, by Thursday night, a system will move in, bringing a 40% chance of precipitation, transitioning into a mix of rain and snow Friday. Overnight lows will drop to 19°F, increasing the risk of icy roads. Saturday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 30°F before another round of snow showers arrives late.
Sunday’s forecast includes mostly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-30s, with snow and rain possible overnight. Travelers should monitor conditions closely and prepare for potential icy spots through the weekend.
