Hamtramck, Michigan – Rain returns to southeast Michigan Thursday afternoon, but a summer preview rolls in fast by the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, a 60% chance of showers arrives after 2 p.m. Thursday in Hamtramck and surrounding Wayne County. Winds will push from the east at 10–13 mph, with gusts near 21 mph. Drivers along I-94 and I-75 should use caution Thursday evening, especially during the post-work commute.

Showers will taper by midnight, and Friday brings mostly sunny skies with a slight 30% chance of afternoon rain. Highs will climb to 74°F, offering the first taste of early summer. Morning lows will stay in the low-to-mid 50s throughout the week.

Saturday and Sunday are shaping up to be dry and bright. Saturday tops out at 71°F with clear skies continuing into Sunday. Winds will remain light and variable — ideal for outdoor plans.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday will continue the warming trend. Monday hits 78°F under sunny skies. Tuesday spikes to 84°F, marking the week’s warmest day — a notable jump and a true “Summer Tuesday” by local standards.
