Marquette, Michigan – Showers could dampen commutes on US-41 Thursday morning as light rain moves across Marquette and much of the Upper Peninsula.

According to the National Weather Service, there’s a 30% chance of rain between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday, with skies clearing later in the afternoon. Winds will shift north at 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. While accumulation should remain light, slick roads and reduced visibility during morning travel hours are possible. Drivers should slow down and use headlights in wet conditions.

By Thursday night, skies turn mostly clear with a low near 55°F. Friday continues the warming trend with highs near 66°F and no additional rain expected. Conditions improve further Saturday, bringing sun and highs near 58°F—cooler than average for early summer, but ideal for outdoor plans.

Sunday and Monday see a return to more seasonable summer warmth. Sunday stays sunny, reaching 64°F, and Monday tops out near 73°F with clear skies. A slight chance of rain reappears Tuesday.

This five-day stretch gives Marquette residents a mix of cooler temps and sunshine after a brief rainy start to the weekend. Anyone planning to travel Thursday morning should give extra time for delays, especially along major corridors like US-41.

Weather alerts remain in place through Thursday afternoon. Check back for updates as conditions evolve heading into the weekend.
