Gaylord, Mich. – Light rain will persist across northern Lower Michigan through Thursday afternoon, especially near Gaylord, Traverse City, and Alpena, but drier air is expected to move in tonight.
According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, scattered showers will taper off this evening as skies turn partly cloudy and temperatures dip into the upper 40s to low 50s. Another round of showers and isolated thunderstorms is expected Friday, with highs ranging from 70 to 79 degrees.
Drivers on M-32 and US-131 may see slick spots during brief downpours today. While no severe storms are forecast, isolated thunder Friday could bring gusty winds or small hail. Residents are advised to check weather alerts before traveling and ensure outdoor items are secured ahead of potential Friday storms.
This wet pattern is expected to clear out by the weekend, with dry and mild conditions likely through Sunday. Stay tuned for additional updates as Friday’s storms develop.
