Detroit, MI – Warmer conditions are moving into Southeast Michigan, but residents should prepare for a shift as rain showers are expected by early Friday morning. Increasing cloud coverage later today will mark the beginning of an unsettled weather pattern heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac, a stalled frontal boundary across the region will bring widespread rain and fluctuating temperatures from Thursday night through Saturday. Rain is likely by daybreak Friday with a 60% chance, and heavier showers are forecast to persist into Saturday with a 70% probability.

High temperatures will range between 51°F and 72°F through Saturday, with the sharp north-south gradient making localized forecasts more difficult. Thursday brings highs from 54°F to 57°F and lows in the upper 20s to low 40s, followed by warmer overnight temperatures heading into the weekend.

Drivers and commuters should be cautious of slick roadways, particularly during the Friday morning rush. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and check local alerts for any weekend activity adjustments. While severe storms are not expected, consistent rainfall may impact outdoor plans and regional travel across Southeast Michigan.
