Grand Rapids, Mich. – Patchy drizzle and damp road conditions could greet early Thursday drivers in Grand Rapids, while isolated thunderstorms loom for Friday evening, capping off an unsettled end to the workweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, light showers are expected to develop Thursday between 4 and 5 p.m., with only a 10% chance of rain during the day. A more significant system could move in Friday afternoon, bringing isolated thunderstorms after 5 p.m. Rain chances increase to 20% by evening, with gusts up to 22 mph possible.

Friday’s high will climb to 73°F with partly sunny skies before storms move in. Patchy clouds will stick around Thursday night with lows near 49°F. Calm and mild conditions return for the weekend, with sunny skies and highs around 71°F Saturday and 73°F Sunday.

If you’re planning outdoor events or travel late Friday, keep an eye on the radar and be ready to move indoors quickly. Wind gusts and brief downpours could disrupt late-day activities.

Looking ahead, next week kicks off warm and dry, with highs nearing 87°F by Tuesday. But Friday’s storm risk is the main weather hiccup before a sunny stretch begins.
