Detroit, MI – High winds up to 50 mph and light snow showers are expected to impact Southeast Michigan this evening. A wind advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m., and drivers should be cautious of slick conditions as snow begins to accumulate overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, snow totals are expected to stay under half an inch tonight, but stronger gusts will make driving challenging, especially on I-94 and I-75. Temperatures will drop into the low 20s tonight with wind chills falling even further.
Tuesday will bring calmer winds and mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 34°F. However, the area could face another round of snow late Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Looking ahead, freezing rain is expected Friday night, potentially creating hazardous road conditions to close out the week.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor items during high winds and check local forecasts for road updates.
Stay tuned for updates throughout the week as weather conditions evolve.
