Grand Rapids, MI – Tuesday’s weather in West Michigan will bring a shift from mild rain to snow flurries and cooler temperatures. The National Weather Service (NWS) reports rain showers will taper off Monday night as temperatures dip, setting the stage for a chilly Tuesday with highs around 37°F and gusty winds reaching up to 28 mph.

According to the NWS, light snow flurries are expected by Tuesday morning, primarily affecting commuters along I-196 and I-96. While little to no accumulation is expected, slick roads could lead to delays during peak travel hours. Residents should prepare for blustery conditions, with northwest winds dropping real-feel temperatures into the 20s.

The unsettled pattern will continue into Thanksgiving, with snow showers likely Wednesday and temperatures hovering near 38°F. By Thanksgiving night, additional light snow could fall, though significant accumulation remains unlikely. The coldest day this week is expected Friday, with highs around 32°F and a chance for afternoon snow showers.

Travelers heading to holiday destinations should monitor road conditions, especially in lake-effect snow-prone areas south of Grand Rapids. The NWS advises keeping emergency supplies in vehicles and using extra caution on bridges and overpasses.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures will plunge further, with Saturday and Sunday highs struggling to reach the mid-20s. Snow showers will persist, making it a wintry start to December.
