Michigan Spring Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds Hit Gaylord by Monday Afternoon

Gaylord, Michigan –Thunderstorms and gusty winds are set to arrive in Gaylord Monday, marking the beginning of an unsettled stretch of spring weather across northern Michigan.

According to the National Weather Service, rain and possible thunderstorms are expected to move into Otsego County late Monday morning, with the heaviest rainfall likely between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wind gusts could reach up to 30 mph by the afternoon, particularly along U.S. 131 and I-75 corridors. Rain chances stay high into Monday night, with a 30% chance of lingering showers before midnight.

Tuesday brings a short-lived break, with partly sunny skies and a high near 48°F. But the next system arrives quickly, with a 40% chance of showers returning Tuesday night. Rain continues into Wednesday morning before tapering off in the afternoon. Wednesday’s high will rise to a seasonably warm 63°F.

Looking toward the end of the workweek, Thursday and Friday will both carry chances of scattered spring showers, with daytime highs in the mid-60s. Though no severe weather is expected, travel may be disrupted at times due to wet roads and reduced visibility.
