Grand Rapids, MI – A winter storm dropped up to 7 inches of snow across parts of Michigan on Wednesday, affecting travel conditions. The heaviest snowfall hit areas near Grand Rapids and Lansing, with widespread totals between 4 to 6 inches.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Rapids, Lansing saw up to 6 inches, while Plainwell recorded 5.8 inches. Snowfall also reached 7 inches in Laingsburg. Coastal regions and inland areas, including Holland and East Grand Rapids, reported between 2.5 to 5 inches.
Roads remained slick as plows worked to clear highways and residential streets. The NWS advised drivers to use caution, especially in untreated areas. Strong winds and low temperatures made conditions even more hazardous.
More snowfall is possible later this week as another storm system approaches. Officials urge residents to check forecasts and prepare for potential travel disruptions.
