Ann Arbor, MI – Emergency crews responded to a serious crash Friday evening on westbound I-94 near Stone School Road.
Firefighters arrived at 5:37 p.m. and found multiple vehicles involved, including a semi-truck carrying steel coils overturned on the shoulder. One individual sustained severe injuries and required extrication using the Jaws of Life, officials said.
According to the Ann Arbor Fire Department, one lane of I-94 reopened after crews righted and removed the semi. The crash temporarily caused significant traffic delays in the area.
Pittsfield Township Fire Department and Michigan State Police assisted with the response and crash investigation. Battalion Chief 1-1, along with Pittsfield Engine 10-2 and 10-1, supported rescue efforts.
Authorities said the semi’s overturned load of steel coils complicated recovery efforts but praised the swift work of emergency teams. The crash remains under investigation.
