Detroit, MI – A cold front continues to grip Michigan, bringing scattered snow showers and subfreezing temperatures today across Metro Detroit. Travelers are advised to prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, particularly in the Thumb region, where 1–2 inches of snow is expected.
According to the National Weather Service, light snow will fall throughout Monday, with gusty winds reaching up to 25 mph. Highs will struggle to reach the upper 20s, while wind chills will make it feel much colder. Those commuting on major roadways, including I-75 and I-94, should exercise caution, especially during the morning and evening hours when conditions are most treacherous.
Tonight, snow showers will taper off, leaving behind partly cloudy skies and lows dropping into the mid-teens. Drivers should anticipate icy patches as temperatures remain well below freezing.
Tuesday offers a brief reprieve with mostly sunny skies, though highs will still hover in the mid-20s. By Wednesday, scattered snow showers return, accompanied by colder air pushing temperatures into the low 20s during the day and single digits at night.
Residents should bundle up and limit outdoor exposure to avoid frostbite during this cold snap. Looking ahead, conditions will gradually improve by Thursday, with sunny skies and highs reaching the upper 20s.
