Memphis, TN – The Mid-South will experience frosty mornings to start the week, with clear skies and warming temperatures through Wednesday. However, residents should prepare for possible rain showers by midweek as conditions shift.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Sunday evening temperatures will drop to 29 degrees, leading to widespread frost overnight. Monday will see a high near 50 degrees with sunny skies, offering a welcome reprieve after a chilly start. Travel on major roadways like I-40 is expected to remain unaffected by weather early in the week.

As the week progresses, temperatures will rise slightly, peaking near 53 degrees on Wednesday. Rain chances increase late Wednesday night, with a 30% likelihood of showers forecast after midnight. This marks the start of a cooler, wetter period heading into Thursday.

Tuesday and Wednesday will feature sunny skies and highs near 50 degrees, but overnight lows will remain cold, dropping to the low 30s. By Thursday, a high near 48 degrees and sunny skies will follow the rain.

Motorists and outdoor enthusiasts should take caution, especially during early morning hours when frost may impact visibility or create slick patches on elevated surfaces. Use extra time to defrost windshields before traveling.

Stay updated by monitoring local weather alerts, especially as rain chances develop later in the week.
