Portland, Oregon – Rain and wind will return to Portland Thursday morning, giving way to clear skies and summerlike temperatures just in time for Memorial Day.

According to the National Weather Service, a 50% chance of showers arrives late Wednesday night into early Thursday, with rainfall most likely before 11 a.m. Expect light accumulation under a tenth of an inch, paired with light southwest wind. By Thursday afternoon, skies will gradually clear and temperatures will top out around 65°F.

Roads across the metro, including I-5 and U.S. Route 26, may be slick during the morning commute Thursday. Drivers should allow extra time and watch for brief delays due to wet pavement and reduced visibility.

Thursday night remains mostly cloudy with lows near 48°F, but drier air will dominate through the weekend. By Friday, Portland will warm to 71°F under mostly sunny skies. Saturday and Sunday will bring even more sunshine with highs in the mid-70s. Memorial Day Monday is expected to hit near 79°F with only a slight chance of afternoon showers.

This five-day stretch marks Portland’s first extended taste of summer. Residents planning outdoor gatherings should still monitor Monday’s minor rain risk but can expect ideal conditions overall.
