Boston, MA – Much of Massachusetts will feel more like June than April today as breezy conditions and unseasonably warm air push temperatures into the upper 70s and low 80s, particularly inland and away from the coast.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, highs this afternoon will range between 75°F and 80°F across central and western Massachusetts, including cities like Springfield, Fitchburg, and Greenfield. Areas closer to the immediate south coast—including New Bedford and Nantucket—will remain cooler, with highs in the 60s due to onshore winds.

Boston is expected to reach around 78°F, while Worcester and Lawrence will see similar warmth. Breezy southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph could make it feel even warmer in some spots and may elevate fire weather concerns in drier areas.

Commuters and those with outdoor plans should stay hydrated and secure loose outdoor items, especially in areas experiencing stronger gusts. While the warm weather is welcome for many, residents along the Cape and Islands should dress for cooler conditions, with Provincetown only reaching the upper 60s and Nantucket struggling to hit 61°F.

The warmth is expected to last through the day before a cold front arrives midweek. More updates will be issued as temperatures begin to moderate.
