Boston, MA – Massachusetts residents are in for another bitterly cold night as temperatures plunge into the teens and low 20s across the state, with wind chills making it feel even colder.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, overnight lows will range from the upper teens to low 20s along the South Shore and Cape Cod, while mid-teens are expected along the I-90 corridor. Areas north of the Mass Pike will see single-digit lows, with interior regions experiencing wind chills as low as -5°F.
Western Massachusetts, including Pittsfield and Great Barrington, will see some of the coldest wind chills between -5°F and -10°F. Boston and Worcester can expect wind chills in the 5°F to 10°F range, while southeastern areas like New Bedford and Nantucket will stay slightly warmer, with feels-like temperatures around 10°F.
The NWS advises residents to dress in layers and limit exposure to the cold, as frostbite can occur quickly in subzero wind chills. While winds are expected to calm overnight, the frigid air will persist into Saturday morning.
