Boston, MA – Light snowfall is set to blanket parts of southeastern Massachusetts tonight, creating potentially hazardous road conditions. Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and Cape Cod are expected to see 1–2 inches of snow accumulation between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m.
According to the National Weather Service, gradual clearing is expected after the snow ends early Wednesday morning. Drivers should prepare for slippery roads, especially during the evening and overnight hours. The snowfall is anticipated to affect major roadways, including Routes 6 and 28, commonly used for local travel across the Cape and islands.
Tonight’s low temperature will hover around 9°F with wind chills near zero, making it critical to limit outdoor exposure. For those traveling, officials urge motorists to allow extra time and use caution on untreated surfaces.
Looking ahead, Wednesday will bring sunny skies and a high of 20°F, although wind chills will remain as low as -2°F. Partly sunny conditions will follow on Thursday, with a high of 30°F. Friday and Saturday will see clear, sunny skies and highs climbing to 29–30°F, offering a reprieve from the bitter cold.
