Boston, Massachusetts – Sizzling summer heat is gripping eastern and central Massachusetts Sunday morning, with real-feel temperatures pushing near 100°F and little relief expected before Monday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Norton, a Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Monday for much of the state, including Boston, Worcester, Lawrence, and Brockton. Areas along the I-95 corridor will see the worst of it, with heat indices from 95°F to 100°F, particularly during peak afternoon hours.

Hot, humid conditions may lead to heat-related illnesses, especially for those without air conditioning or working outdoors. Officials urge residents to limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and check on elderly neighbors. Cooling centers across Suffolk, Middlesex, and Norfolk counties may open if conditions worsen.

Sunday’s high in Boston will reach 93°F, with southwest winds around 10 mph. Monday will be even hotter, peaking near 96°F under sunny skies. Relief comes briefly Monday night with a slight chance of showers, but oppressive humidity lingers through Tuesday.

Communities such as Worcester, Lowell, and Providence may also face utility strain if A/C demand spikes. Those traveling on major routes like I-90 and Route 128 should prepare for potential heat-related vehicle issues and delays due to road maintenance scheduling around peak temps.
