Boston, MA – A wet and cool weekend is in store for Massachusetts, with spring showers set to affect Boston and the surrounding areas starting Saturday, April 6. Residents are advised to prepare for fluctuating temperatures and intermittent rainfall as the state enters a transitional period of spring weather.

According to the National Weather Service, Boston will experience partly cloudy skies overnight Friday, followed by decreasing clouds and mild temperatures on Saturday, with highs around 64°F. However, a 70% chance of showers will begin around midday, making for a wet afternoon. The weather pattern will remain unsettled, with rain expected to last into Sunday morning. A possible additional storm system could bring more precipitation late in the day on Sunday, extending into the evening hours.

By Monday, rain chances will decrease to 50%, but cool temperatures and partly cloudy skies will persist, with highs reaching 48°F. With the arrival of the weekend’s showers, roadways in Boston and across the state will likely be slick, especially during the afternoon, which could slow down traffic on major highways, including I-93 and I-90.

Those planning weekend activities or travel should stay updated on weather alerts. Ensure you have rain gear ready, and if driving, allow extra time to navigate wet roads.

Looking ahead, the five-day forecast calls for drier conditions starting Tuesday, with clearer skies expected midweek and highs reaching 54°F by Thursday.
