Boston, MA – Massachusetts residents should prepare for strong winds and an approaching Arctic chill as the region braces for a volatile weather pattern this week.

According to the National Weather Service, a High Wind Warning remains in effect until Tuesday at 1 a.m., with wind gusts reaching up to 65 mph in parts of Middlesex, Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk counties. The strongest winds are expected Monday night, potentially causing downed trees, power outages, and hazardous travel conditions, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents should stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

Beyond the wind threat, an Arctic cold front will drop temperatures significantly across Massachusetts this week. Tuesday’s high will struggle to reach 24°F, with wind chills making it feel much colder. Lows will dip into the single digits by midweek, bringing the risk of frostbite for those exposed to the cold for prolonged periods.

Looking ahead, snow chances increase Thursday evening, with accumulations possible. By Friday and Saturday, highs will hover in the low 30s, with continued cold but drier conditions.

Residents should secure outdoor objects, prepare for potential power outages, and dress in layers when heading outside. Stay updated with local forecasts as conditions evolve.
