Boston, MA – Light snow is blanketing much of Massachusetts today, reducing visibility and creating slick conditions for holiday travelers. The snowfall, driven by a fast-moving low-pressure system, will continue through the morning before tapering off by afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall totals are expected to remain under one inch across most areas, but visibility will be significantly reduced. Rain is also mixing with snow near the South Coast, adding to slippery road conditions. Drivers should exercise caution, especially on major routes such as I-90 and I-93, where icy patches could persist into the evening.

By this afternoon, clouds will begin to clear, and temperatures will hover around 34°F. Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with lows dropping to 20°F, making for a chilly but calm Christmas Eve.

Christmas Day promises clear and sunny conditions, with highs reaching near 35°F and light winds. This dry weather will extend through Thursday and Friday, offering a pleasant stretch for outdoor activities and post-holiday travel.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures will trend slightly warmer, reaching the high 30s on Saturday. Cloud coverage increases Sunday, bringing a chance of rain or snow showers in the evening.

For those traveling today or tomorrow, plan extra time and check for local road advisories. If you’re hosting guests, remind them to bundle up for a cold but sunny Christmas morning.
