Baltimore, MD – Maryland residents should prepare for a chilly weekend as cold temperatures and gusty winds sweep through the state. Mountain snow showers are expected west of the Alleghenies starting Saturday, while the Baltimore area will see frosty but sunny conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday brings a chance of flurries from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with temperatures peaking near 48°F. Winds will reach up to 23 mph, creating brisk outdoor conditions. Clear skies overnight will drop temperatures to a freezing 29°F.

Saturday offers a bright but cold day, with highs near 40°F in Baltimore and lows dropping to 30°F. Residents in the mountain regions, especially along I-68, should prepare for snow showers, with lows between 17°F and 21°F. Gusty winds will persist, especially at higher elevations.

Sunday brings slightly warmer conditions, with highs near 42°F in Baltimore and lows around 28°F. However, those traveling west should remain cautious of slick roadways, as light snow and gusty winds continue in mountainous areas.

Looking ahead, the region stays chilly early next week, with sunny skies and daytime highs near 43°F through Tuesday. Frosty overnight lows will persist, so winter precautions, such as protecting pipes and plants, are advised.

Drivers near the Alleghenies or on I-68 should monitor road conditions and allow extra time for travel this weekend. Bundle up and stay updated on forecasts to plan your outdoor activities.
