Baltimore, Maryland – Thunderstorms could bring drenching rain, gusty winds, and lightning to Baltimore by Sunday afternoon, putting drivers and outdoor plans at risk.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will move into the area by early afternoon Sunday, June 8, with a 70% chance of thunderstorms developing after 2 p.m. Affected areas include downtown Baltimore, Dundalk, Towson, and major highways like I-83 and I-95. Localized flooding is possible, especially in poor drainage areas and low-lying roadways. Highs will reach the low 80s, with east winds between 3 and 7 mph.

Showers may linger into Sunday night, with a continued 60% chance of precipitation. Calmer conditions return by Monday, but a slight chance of storms remains early in the day. Another round of thunderstorms is possible Monday night between 2 and 5 a.m., with rain continuing into Tuesday.

Residents should avoid flooded roads, charge mobile devices, and secure outdoor furniture. Weekend events and travel could be impacted, particularly on Sunday afternoon.
