Baltimore, Maryland – Summer-like heat arrives in Maryland this week as Baltimore braces for a high of 91°F by Wednesday afternoon, with temperatures climbing even higher into Thursday. Commuters and outdoor workers along I-83 and throughout the city should prepare for midday sun and elevated UV levels through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, calm winds will shift slightly from the south by morning, ushering in Wednesday’s sunshine and pushing temperatures into the low 90s by 2 p.m. Humidity levels will remain moderate, but prolonged sun exposure may increase the risk of heat-related illness. Drink water regularly, avoid peak sun between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and limit strenuous activity outdoors.

Conditions remain mostly clear Wednesday night with a low near 70°F before another sunny surge Thursday brings highs up to 92°F. The first rain chances arrive late Friday evening with a 40% chance of showers. Thunderstorms become more likely Saturday, when a 70% chance of rain could disrupt weekend plans across Baltimore and surrounding counties.

Localized flooding or traffic slowdowns on highways like I-695 and MD-295 are possible Saturday. Residents planning outdoor events or travel should monitor forecasts closely.

Warnings remain limited for now, but the weekend’s storm threat could lead to hazardous travel. More updates are expected by Thursday evening.
