Baltimore, Maryland – Spring sun holds out through midweek in Maryland, but residents in Baltimore should brace for a sharp weather shift by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday and Thursday will remain mostly sunny and warm, with highs near 79°F and 80°F. Calm winds and mild nights will offer ideal conditions for outdoor activities and commuting. However, the dry spell ends abruptly late Thursday, as showers begin to develop across the region.

Friday’s forecast calls for a 30% chance of rain after 2 p.m., followed by a 60% likelihood of showers into Friday night. Rain becomes more widespread after 2 a.m. Saturday, with a 70% chance of precipitation continuing through the early weekend. Drivers along I-95 and I-83 should expect wet roads, potential pooling, and slower travel times, especially by Saturday morning.

Residents are encouraged to charge devices ahead of time and delay non-essential travel during the rain window Friday night through Saturday. Although severe storms aren’t currently expected, the rain could disrupt outdoor events and local traffic patterns—particularly around Baltimore Beltway (I-695).

Looking ahead, Saturday stays cloudy with continued shower chances and a high near 70°F. Sunday clears slightly, with sun returning and a high of 71°F. Monday continues the warming trend, reaching 74°F under mostly sunny skies.

More rain may return late next week, but for now, warnings remain in effect through Saturday. Stay updated via the NWS and local alerts.
