Baltimore, MD – The Baltimore-Washington region is set to experience one last night of below-average temperatures before a gradual warm-up begins next week. Overnight lows are expected to drop into the teens across most areas, with metropolitan regions seeing temperatures in the low 20s.

According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, temperatures will reach as low as 12°F in western Maryland, with Oakland and Cumberland dipping below 20°F. Baltimore and Washington, D.C., are forecasted to hit 24°F and 21°F, respectively.

Residents are advised to take precautions against the cold, including dressing in layers, protecting pets, and preventing pipes from freezing. While temperatures remain frigid tonight, forecasters expect a slow but steady moderation beginning over the weekend, bringing relief from the recent cold snap.

Drivers should also be cautious of potential icy patches overnight, especially in shaded areas and bridges. Warmer temperatures are forecasted for the coming days, marking a transition toward more seasonable conditions.
