Baltimore, MD – Residents in the Baltimore metro area can expect a mix of mild temperatures and dry weather early this week, but conditions will change as a mid-week cold front moves in. The National Weather Service reports that temperatures will start in the 60s on Tuesday, warming up to a high of 75°F. However, an approaching cold front will bring rain and a notable dip in temperatures by Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will feature partly sunny skies, with south winds gusting up to 25 mph, making it breezy. This warm-up continues into Wednesday, with highs potentially reaching 81°F, although there is a 20% chance of showers along the I-95 corridor later in the day. These showers are expected to increase overnight into Thursday, with rain chances reaching 30% by morning, primarily impacting regions near the Alleghenies.

As the cold front arrives, Thursday’s highs will dip slightly, settling around 72°F, and cooler air will continue to push through, bringing high temperatures down to the upper 60s by Friday. Friday’s forecast indicates mostly sunny skies but cooler conditions, with highs between 58°F and 69°F.

Additionally, the Maryland Department of the Environment has issued a Code Orange air quality alert for the Baltimore area, effective until noon on Monday. The alert warns that elevated fine particulate levels could affect sensitive groups, including children, the elderly, and those with respiratory issues. These individuals are advised to limit strenuous outdoor activities. Air quality may improve as the week progresses, but staying updated on air quality levels is recommended.

Looking ahead, the weekend is expected to remain mostly clear, with a high near 67°F on Saturday and continued dry conditions through Sunday. While early-week weather will remain mild and dry, residents should prepare for possible rain and cooler temperatures midweek.
