Caribou, Maine – Heavy rain and patchy fog are set to soak Caribou and much of northern Maine this weekend, with the heaviest rainfall expected Saturday morning through Sunday evening. Gusty winds could make travel hazardous, especially on open roads and elevated terrain.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, rain will begin early Saturday and continue intermittently through Sunday night, with new precipitation totals ranging from a quarter to over half an inch. Winds out of the southeast could gust up to 23 mph, especially late Sunday.
Friday will bring scattered showers and patchy fog overnight, with drier conditions in the afternoon before the wet weather intensifies. Saturday’s high is expected near 65°F, dropping to the low 50s overnight, while Sunday will reach a high near 60°F before more showers return in the evening.
Drivers should prepare for low visibility during foggy periods and wet road surfaces through the weekend. Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities and secure loose items due to gusty conditions. Those in low-lying or flood-prone areas should remain alert.
Additional advisories may be issued as the rain pattern evolves. Warnings remain possible through Sunday night.
