Caribou, Maine – Maine residents are bracing for a stretch of cooler weather as clouds and a few breaks of sunshine dominate Thursday and Friday. A low-pressure system will bring soaking rain to the coast beginning Friday night, with rainfall tapering off by Saturday night. Highs on Saturday will be in the low 50s across the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, the rain will likely last into Saturday, especially along the coast. Saturday’s high temperatures will remain on the cooler side, topping out in the low 50s. Sunshine is expected to return by Sunday, with highs reaching the mid-50s to near 60°F for most of the state, including the Down East region. Monday will see partly sunny skies and a return to warmer temperatures.

Looking ahead to midweek next week, conditions will remain partly sunny and unseasonably warm, offering a shift from the cool, rainy weather to more summer-like conditions.
