Caribou, ME – A snowy start to the week is forecast for Caribou and eastern Maine, with light snow showers expected Monday night through Tuesday. Temperatures will remain below freezing, prompting residents to prepare for potentially slick roads and chilly commutes.

According to the National Weather Service, calm conditions Sunday will give way to increasing clouds by Monday night, with a 30% chance of light snow before sunrise Tuesday. Accumulations are expected to be minimal, but untreated roads, including Routes 1 and 89, may become slippery during early morning travel hours. Drivers should exercise caution and allow extra travel time.

By Tuesday afternoon, snow showers will continue with highs reaching only 24°F. Winds are expected to remain light, limiting visibility concerns. Snowfall chances decrease Tuesday night, though temperatures will dip to a frigid 16°F, creating icy conditions overnight.

Looking ahead, Wednesday brings another round of snow showers, with a 30% chance of light accumulations throughout the day and highs near 24°F. By Wednesday night, the temperature is forecast to plunge to a bone-chilling 5°F, accompanied by clearing skies.

The extended forecast includes partly sunny conditions Thursday and Friday, with highs reaching 19°F and 22°F, respectively. While the snow will subside midweek, freezing temperatures will persist, keeping road conditions icy.
